Masks of Suffering: Terapeutic Poems
Synopsis
Co-publisher: Presa Universitară Clujeană
The poetry volume “Masks of Suffering” emerged as a result of the author’s accumulated experiences within projects dedicated to social change, particularly aimed at young people and other vulnerable groups. Developed in 2024 within the “ARTbridge Intercultural” project (University of Arts in Târgu Mureș), the volume continues the artistic and reflective direction initiated by the theatre performance NOUN. It combines poems and images created through the original technique Dynamic Convergence Photography, capturing evolving inner states. Structured as a trilogy, „The Architecture of Identity”, „The Anatomy of Change”, and „The Liturgy of Healing”, the volume explores identity fragility, inner collapse and rebirth, and healing through reconnection. The poems address addiction, suffering, loneliness, and the search for meaning.
From a psychological perspective, the book functions as a bibliotherapeutic endeavor, facilitating identification, symbolic transfer, and insight. Readers are invited to recognize their own experiences within the poetic space and explore them safely, enabling integration and authentic psychological transformation.
